Owen & Helen Dunbar Scholarship
Owen and Helen Dunbar are the maternal grandparents of our founder Dr. Shakina D. Rawlings. Dr. Rawlings was raised by Owen and Helen Dunbar in Arlington, VA. Through their sacrifice and their desire to never let her settle, they groomed Dr. Rawlings to be successful and to go after more. After the passing of Helen Dunbar in 2009, Owen Dunbar sowed the first financial seed into Jireh’s Place. Jireh’s Place exists because of Owen’s initial seed sown for the launch of the organization. The Owen and Helen Dunbar Scholarship is for a young lady graduating from high school with a 2.7 GPA or better and lives in Arlington, or Prince William County.
Joyce d. rawlings Scholarship

With Joyce’s work in the Alexandria community, she has worked with youth of all ages. The young ladies in her care had a desire for a program just for them. Joyce connected with the Jireh’s Place program bringing the first set of Alexandria, VA girls to the Jireh’s Place Alexandria, VA Cora Kelly Program. The Joyce D. Rawlings Scholarship is for a young lady graduating from high school with a 2.7 GPA or better and who lives in Alexandria City or Fairfax County.
